2nd Fingerstyle Adventure

Welcome to the 2nd Fingerstyle Adventure. In this second part, we´re going to build on the concepts included in the first Fingerstyle Adventure. In this course we´re going to learn new fingerpicking patterns used by top artists in Folk, Country, Pop and more.

Many believe these types of patterns originated with Merle Travis, in fact the´ve been dubbed “Travis Picking”. They use techniques like alternate bass note runs and what I call the pinch.

A good part of this course will be dedicated to solo guitar playing. You´re going to learn to play the melody along with the fingerpicking patterns, as they go hand and hand. A lot of the patterns you use in fingerpicking will be used in solo guitar playing and vice versa.

We´re also going to go into Drop D tuning briefly. Additionally, we´ll go into some techniques to embellish your fingerstyle playing, including hammer-ons, pull-offs, and bass runs.

The best way to go through this course is to spend as much time as you need on each lesson before moving on to the next. Try to spend a sufficient amount of time to ensure development on that lesson. Ideally, try to get to where you feel you´re at 80 percent of knowing the lesson before moving on. Naturally, what 80 percent is up to you and your criteria.

Remember, everyone is different, so feel free to approach this course in the way that feels right for you. Now, let’s get to work.

Let’s do this!

I am having trouble finding how to do step by step lessons- When I log on I don’t see how to pick up where I left off.
