Go Chaz!

Thanks Tomas, Great advice, smaller chunks of practice with stretching in between . And,, I’ll stop trying to strangle the neck of the guitar!

Hooray, I made it to Chapter 2. The power chords where fun, but 30 minutes of practice results in an hour of ice on my left thumb that has tendinitis. I have to constantly remind myself not to try and “Muscle thru it”.
After several tries of testing just how little force is needed to make the strings play clearly, I think there is hope for me and Barre Chords. I just need to relax and work on Technic rather than strength.
Thanks Tomas.

I think you’re doing great Tim. This is just the kind of feedback that indicates real progress. It also seems you have a good and realistic understanding of the process.

I’m working on a technique myself that is a bit strenuous. I’ve found that it’s best if I work at it for 5 to 10 minutes at a time max. I stretch before and after for 60 seconds (really helps) and do this several times in a day mixed in with other things I’m practicing. It’s been a couple of weeks now and I can see progress.

I tell you this because I want you to know that small session do work for us grownups if you’re persistent. I think I should stretch more than I do… have to respect the body 🙂
