Monthly Practice Plan – August 2022

August is upon us, and we have a fantastic set of lessons and exercises for you to finish the summer on a strong note. Working on these will help you develop further and keep building strong habits on your way to becoming a good musician. This month we’re going to work on your right-hand technique and independence, getting familiar with the diminished chord and arpeggio, bar chord strength, and more. These concepts and exercises will expand your knowledge of the fretboard and overall facility on the guitar.As usual, we will also spend some time training your ear. This often-neglected aspect of music is paramount to becoming a good player. Add to that a few licks and some finger strengthening exercises for a month full of exciting new information that will help you improve.Remember, go slow, have patience, and most importantly, have fun!

    Had a good time with the double stops and improvising with those on the E scale, adding a full chord strum (A and E) here and there.
    Had a difficult time with the finger picking. I need a lot of work in this area. I’ll see if there is a section devoted to this where I can work on it more consistently.
    Great assortment of lessons this month.

      Hi Grant. There is. Go to the top menu. Click on Lessons; then Fingerstyle. Choose the one called The 1st Fingerstyle Adventure.
