Hi Tomas
I have a question: why is there an F# instead of a plain F? For the rest everything clear.

Hi Sissel,
The formula for the major scale is whole step, whole step, half step, whole step, whole step, whole step, half step. Since the distance between E and F is always a half step, to make a whole step from E will land you on F# and from F# to G is therefore a half step. I hope that is clear. Somewhere Tomas has a theory lesson on the major scale.

Great explanation Shulamit, thank you!
Yes, that lesson would be nice to find!
